The game in Humacao was also quite interesting. Second ranked Mets (16-11) played at the court of 7th ranked Caciques (12-15). Mets managed to secure a 6-point victory 76-70 on Saturday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Mets dominated on the defensive end, holding Caciques to just 7 points in fourth quarter. They outrebounded Caciques 47-36 including 16 on the offensive glass. Mets looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international swingman Gabriel Colon (200-84) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and American center Shaun Pruitt (208-85, college: Illinois, agency: Edge Sports) who added 12 points and 14 rebounds during the contest. Four Mets players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American power forward Ivan Johnson (203-84, college: Cal.St.-San Bernar.) with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and his fellow American import swingman James Maye (201-81, college: NC-Greensboro) scored 17 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Mets maintains second position with 16-11 record having just -2 point less than leader Bayamon. Loser Caciques keep the seventh place with 15 games lost. Mets will meet at home league's leader Vaqueros in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Caciques will play against Cangrejeros (#3) in Santurce and hope to secure a win.
