There was no surprise in San German where 10th ranked Gallitos (9-18) were defeated by fifth ranked Atleticos (15-11) 84-80. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Gallitos were ahead by 10 points at the halftime before a 51-37 second half run of Atleticos. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Atleticos brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. The winners were led by forward Mike Harris (198-83, college: Rice) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 19 points, 21 rebounds and 6 blocks and Panamanian power forward Jaime Lloreda (201-80, college: LSU, agency: Paris Global Sports) supported him with 12 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Even a double-double of 27 points and 12 rebounds by American forward Shavlik Randolph (208-83, college: Duke) did not help to save the game for Gallitos. Argentinian forward Alexander David Galindo (198-85, college: FIU) added 12 points and 5 rebounds. Five Atleticos and four Gallitos players scored in double figures. Atleticos moved-up to third place, which they share with Arecibo and Santurce. Gallitos at the other side stay at the bottom position with 18 games lost. Atleticos' next round opponent will be Quebradillas (#6) on the road. Gallitos will play against Capitanes (#4) in Arecibo.
