We should mention about the upset which took place in Mayaguez, where higher ranked Quebradillas (16-14) lost to ninth ranked Indios (11-18) in a road game 82-86 on Tuesday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Quebradillas. The hosts trailed by 12 points after three quarters before their 30-14 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Indios made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was naturalized American forward Ramon Clemente (200-85, college: Wichita St., agency: Global Sports Plaza) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds. Guard Carlos Rivera (187-83, college: Hofstra, agency: Paris Global Sports) chipped in 22 points. At the other side the best for losing team was international center Peter John Ramos (222-85) who recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds and naturalized American power forward Angel Alamo (206-85) added 22 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Indios maintains ninth place with 11-18 record. Loser Quebradillas keep the fifth position with 14 games lost. Indios will face bottom-ranked Gallitos (#10) in Isabela in the next round. Quebradillas will play on the road against Capitanes (#3) in Arecibo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
