Regular Season Round 1: ARGENTINA - COSTA RICA 130-28

Argentina had a joyful Day One at the U16 FIBA Americas championship in Cancun. They destroyed Costa Rica 130-28 for 1-0 record in Group B. Except of Argentina and Costa Rica, participants of the same pool are also USA and Brazil. Gabriel Deck exploded with 21 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. He needed just 14 minutes on the court to do this. Alvaro Merlo had 16 and Lucio Reinaudi added 14 points and 6 boards. In the loosing squad, Adrian Chavarria had 10 points and 5 rebounds. Their second scorer was Milton Jimenez with 9 pts and 7 boards. Argentina took control on Costa Rica from the very beginning. They made huge 39-8 lead in the first quarter and continued with 31-4 for the next ten minutes. At that time it was already clear who the winner of the game will be and second half was just the formality (28-12, 32-4). In Day Two, Argentina will meet USA, while Costa Rica will play against Brazil.
