Regular Season Round 28: Arecibo - Quebradillas 81-71
Date: June 23, 2011
No shocking result in a game when third ranked Capitanes (19-11) beat 5th ranked Quebradillas (16-14) in Arecibo 81-71 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by Capitanes. Quebradillas managed to win fourth quarter 21-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The winners were led by the former international center Daniel Santiago (216-76, college: N.Mexico, agency: Priority Sports) who scored that evening 12 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and international guard Larry Ayuso (190-77, college: USC, agency: Global Sports Plaza) supported him with 21 points. Four Capitanes players scored in double figures. Even 27 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists by international center Peter John Ramos (222-85) did not help to save the game for Quebradillas. American-Australian guard CJ Bruton (188-75, college: Indian Hills CC) added 9 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists for lost side. Quebradillas' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Capitanes have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Quebradillas at the other side keep the fifth position with 14 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
