Regular Season Round 28: Arecibo - Mayaguez 109-88
Date: June 24, 2011
The game between third ranked Capitanes (19-11) and 8th ranked Indios (10-20) in Arecibo on Friday ended with biggest points difference. Capitanes outscored guests from Mayaguez 109-88. The game was mostly controlled by Capitanes. Indios managed to win fourth quarter 28-26. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The winners were led by international guard Guillermo Diaz (188-85, college: Miami, FL) who scored that evening 15 points and 5 assists and the former international forward Alexander Falcon (200-74) supported him with 14 points and 6 rebounds. Four Capitanes players scored in double figures. Capitanes' coach David Rosario felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 22 points and 7 rebounds by naturalized American guard Paul Graham (196-85, college: Florida Atlantic) did not help to save the game for Indios. Forward Williset del Valle (196-85) added 16 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. Capitanes have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Indios at the other side dropped to the bottom position with 20 games lost. They share it with Isabela. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
