The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 26-19. But Cangrejeros won second period 19-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Mets made 28-of-37 charity shots (75.7 percent) during the game. Mets outrebounded Cangrejeros 53-34 including a 38-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Cangrejeros were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American center Shaun Pruitt (208-85, college: Illinois, agency: Edge Sports) had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 20 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international swingman Angel Luis Figueroa (196-81, college: Dowling, agency: Paris Global Sports) chipped in 25 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 14-for-14 from the free throw line !!!) during the contest. Four Mets players scored in double figures. International power forward Ricky Sanchez (212-87, college: High School) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists and American swingman James Maye (201-81, college: NC-Greensboro) scored 21 points and 5 rebounds. Cangrejeros' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help.
