South Korea steps closer to the title at the 24th FIBA Asia Championship for Women. The undefeated team overcame Chinese Taipei 72:66 in the Semifinal clash to reach the Final. Two days ago South Korea edged Chinese Taipei at the 24th FIBA Asia Championship for Women. The favorites grabbed 69:67 win to win Group A with 5-0 record. Chinese Taipei finished fourth with 2-3 record and advance to the semis as the last fourth team from the group. Tonight Chinese Taipei opened the game with 16:14, but Choi Youn Ah tied the game at 16:16 in the start of the second frame. South Korea won the second period 20-13 and Ajeong KANG closed the half at 34:29. Chun-Yi LIU later tied the game at 42:42, while Young Suk gave the favorites 51:46 advantage. In the last stanza South Korea stayed in front for the whole time and after 21-18 won the game. Sin Jung Ja paced all the winners with 15 points and Kim Jung Eun as well as Choi Youn Ah netted 13 apiece. Ha Eunjoo followed them with 12 points. Liu Chun-Yi and Chiang Feng-Chun replied with 15 points each in the losing effort.
