Regular Season Round 5: Panteras - Huracanes 85-92

Date: September 15, 2011
Rather expected game when 11th ranked Panteras (1-4) lost to eighth ranked Huracanes (3-2) in Aguascalientes 85-92. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Panteras won fourth quarter 24-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Omar Quintero (183-81, college: S.Nazarene) who scored 22 points and 7 assists. Canadian guard Stephen Sir (195-82, college: N.Arizona) chipped in 22 points. American guard Marlyn Bryant (193-82, college: S.Florida) produced 18 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import guard Devon Ford (193-77, college: Idaho) added 16 points respectively for the hosts. Four Huracanes and five Panteras players scored in double figures. Huracanes moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Soles and Pioneros. Panteras lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the tenth position with four games lost. Huracanes' next round opponent will be league's leader Barreteros in Zacatecas and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Panteras will play at home against Correcaminos (#11) in Ciudad Victoria and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
