Regular Season Day 2: JORDAN - JAPAN 87-92

Japan celebrated the second win at the 2011 Asian Championship. They prevailed against Jordan in a tough battle in Wuhan to stay undefeated in Group C. Takuya Kawamura scored 23 points to pace the effort. Jordan opened the game with a strong 13:2 run. But Japan recovered and surged ahead for a 19:17 lead after ten minutes of action. The lead changed hands before Japan unloaded 8 points in a row and posted a 36:27 lead late in the first half. Japan tipped off the second half with 15 unanswered points to grab a 51:29 lead. Japan stayed in control and entered the fourth stanza up by as many as 18 points 64:46. Jordan got within 6 points with just over a minutes to go 79:85. However Shinsuke Kashiwagi converted a three-point play and Japan hung on for the victory at the end. Shinsuke Kashiwagi posted 14 points, while Joji Takeuchi added 13 points and 19 rebounds in the victory. Rasheim Wright answered with game-high 30 points for Jordan. Islam Abbaas delivered 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists in the loss.
