UAE registered the first win at the Asian Championship in Wuhan. They drubbed Bahrain to climb at 1-1 record in Group D. Ibrahim Ahmad scored 17 points to lead the effort Bahrain slipped at 0-2 record after the loss. Bahrain ensured a brave start. They led 12:7 midway through the starting frame. Bahrain posted a 17:16 lead ten minutes into the game. But UAE turned things around in the second frame. They limited their opponents to just 10 points in the quarter to establish a 37:27 advantage at the interval. UAE maintained the lead throughout the third stanza. UAE boosted the gap to as many as 24 points at the final break 70:46. UAE opened the fourth term on a 13:4 rally and never looked back en route to the victory. Rashed Al Zaabi had 16 points, while Ali Al Hattawi and Jasim Abdalla contributed 13 points apiece for UAE. Maitam Isa responded with 15 points for Bahrain. Husain Al Tawash and Ahmed Malallah netted 11 points each in the loss.
