Taiwan recorded the second win at the Asian Championship preliminary round. They outscored Qatar to clinch 2-1 record in Group B. Tsung-Hsien Chang scored 35 points to lead the effort. Qatar used just five players in the game and suffered the third straight loss at the tournament. Taiwan knocked down 23 points in the opening frame to build an 8-point buffer. They stretched the margin in the second frame. Taiwan ensured a 50:40 halftime lead. Qatar did not surrender cutting the deficit in the third stanza. They got within 7 points at the final break 61:68. But Taiwan quickly stretched the gap to 15 points in the final quarter and never looked back en route to the victory. Lee Hsueh-Lin posted 15 points, 7 assists and 5 boards, while Wen-Ting Tseng added 14 points for the winners. Omer Abdelkader Salem answered with 30 points and 12 rebounds for Qatar. Erfan Ali Saeed finished with 19 points and 13 rebounds in the losing case.
