Second Stage Day 3: SOUTH KOREA - IRAN 62-79

Iran registered the sixth straight win at the Asian Championship. They outscored South Korea to enter the quarterfinal stage undefeated. Hamed Haddadi scored 17 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to pace Iran. They will now take on Jordan in the playoffs. South Korea suffered the first defeat at the tournament and would now face Japan in quarterfinal. Iran stormed into the game. They outscored South Korea 23:13 in the starting quarter. Iran maintained the lead well enough throughout the second term. They posted a 42:30 halftime lead. Iran boosted the margin to 17 points midway through the third term. But South Korea refused to surrender cutting the gap to 10 points at the final break. But Iran opened the final stanza on a 9:3 run and never looked back en route to the victory. Mahdi Kamrani posted 15 points, while Arsalan Kazemi added 11 points for Iran. Lee Jung-Suk and Yang Dong-Geun responded with 14 points each for South Korea.
