Very important is a road loss of second ranked ALBA Berlin II (0-1) against leader BSV Wulfen (1-0) on Saturday night. Visiting ALBA Berlin II was defeated by BSV Wulfen in a tough game in Wulfen 69-75. It was a key game for the top position in Group North. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 29-11. But ALBA Berlin II won second period 25-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Steve Briggs (178-85, college: Okla.Wesleyan) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Thomas Reuter (198-92) contributed with 18 points and 4 steals for the winners. Forward Tobias Grauel (195-86) answered with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Joey Ney (197-92) added 14 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for ALBA Berlin II. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. BSV Wulfen keeps a position of Group North leader, which they share with 4 other teams. ALBA Berlin II at the other side still closes the standings with one game lost. BSV Wulfen's next round opponent will be Bayer Giants (#9) in Leverkusen and are hoping to win another game.
