Semi-Finals Game 1: JAPAN - LEBANON 78-80

Lebanon will play for the fifth place at the Asian Championship. They overcame Japan tonight to set up the clash versus Iran. Japan will take on Taiwan for the seventh overall position. Mohamad Ibrahim drained a late three-pointer to seal the win for Lebanon today. Japan opened the game with a 12:2 run. They maintained the lead throughout the starting frame posting a 23:15 lead after ten minutes. Lebanon narrowed the deficit in the second term. But Japan hung on to post a 42:41 halftime advantage. Samuel Hoskin organized an 8:0 run midway through the third term as Lebanon grabbed a 53:48 lead. However Japan regained advantage late in the period after Takuya Kawamura hit a jumper. Japan entered the fourth frame up by a single point 62:61. Japan boosted the gap to 11 points 76:65 midway through the final term. Lebanon answered with a 15:2 run that was crowned by a triple from Mohamad Ibrahim and stole a tough victory at the end. Samuel Hoskin delivered 16 points and 16 rebounds for Lebanon. Elie Estephane and Mohamad Ibrahim added 16 points each in the win. Takuya Kawamura responded with 20 points for Japan. Tomoo Amino netted 17 points in the losing effort.
