China overcame South Korea in a low-scoring battle tonight to join Jordan in the Asian Championship title game. Jianlian Yi stepped up with 17 points and 12 rebounds to pace the hosts. South Korea will take on Philippines for the Bronze medals. South Korea ensured a slightly better start to the game. They limited the home team to just 8 points in the opening frame to take a 3-point lead. South Korea led throughout the bigger part of the second frame before China capped the half on a 7:2 run to take a 21:19 lead. The hosts opened the second half with six points in a row to stretch the lead. China maintained the lead and posted a 36:30 advantage with ten minutes to go. South Korea never got closer than four points in the final quarter as China rolled to the victory. Wang ZhiZhi posted 15 points and 9 rebounds, while Liu Wei added 11 points for the winners. Yang Dong-Geun answered with 17 points for South Korea. Moon Tae-Jong and Kim Yong-Hwan provided 6 points each in the loss.
