The championship game of the 2011 Asian Championship lived up to the highest expectations. The teams came up with a first class drama and the puzzle was solved in the dying seconds. Abuqoura and Rasheim Wright missed their attempts and the hosts ran away with the prize. China triumphed at the tournament and got the direct promotion to the 2012 London Olympic Games. China and Jordan exchanged baskets throughout the opening frame. China registered a 16:15 lead after ten minutes of action. Jordan surged ahead midway through the second frame. They posted a 36:31 halftime lead. China answered with a 9:0 run at the start of the second half. Jianlian Yi scored seven points in a row to make it 51:42 for China late in the third term. Jordan did not allow the home team to run away as they narrowed the deficit to just three points at the final break 56:59. Jianlian Yi gave China a 66:61 lead midway through the final term. Rasheim Wright answered with five points as Jordan got as close as a single point 66:67. Yi Li hit a jumper bit Rasheim Wright answered with a triple to draw things level 69. Jianlian Yi hit a free throw and then both Rasheim Wright and Abuqoura missed their attempts as China escaped with a narrow win at the end. Jianlian Yi posted 25 points and 16 boards, while Liu Wei contributed 13 points in the win. Rasheim Wright answered with 26 points for Jordan. Abbas Zaid had 13 points and 10 rebounds in defeat.
