South Korea snatched a tough win over Philippines in the consolation final battle at the Asian Championship. Cho Sung-Min scored 20 points to pace the winners. Philippines gained a 14:7 lead after ten minutes of action. Jimmy Alapag gave the Filipino team an 18:7 lead midway through the second term. They maintained the lead and arrived at the interval up by as many as 7 points 24:17. Williams made it 30:19 for Philippines early in the third term. South Korea answered with a 9:1 run to cut the deficit. Philippines however picked up the slack and earned a 47:36 advantage at the final intermission. But it was Cho Sung-Min who gave necessary spark for South Korea. He unleashed 15 points in the fourth frame as South Korea pulled ahead and sealed a narrow win at the end. Kim Joo-Sung posted 14 points and 9 rebounds, while Oh Sek-Eun added 9 points in the win. Marcus Douthit answered with 27 points and 22 rebounds for Philippines. Jimmy Alapag provided 17 points in the loss.
