Regular Season Round 12: Toros - Lechugueros 86-82

No shocking result in a game in Nuevo Laredo where fourth ranked Toros (9-3) defeated 11th ranked Lechugueros (3-8) 86-82 on Saturday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Lechugueros were trailing by 5 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 26-21 charge of Toros, which allowed them to win the game. Lechugueros were plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American guard Rene Rougeau (198-86, college: UNLV) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. American-Puerto Rican point guard Wilfredo Pagan (184-76, agency: Paris Global Sports) chipped in 17 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Haitian-American swingman Bobby St.Preux (196-80, college: N.Kentucky, agency: KMG Sports Management) who recorded 26 points and 5 rebounds and American forward Deilvez Yearby (198-87, college: IPFW, agency: Pro One Sports) added 15 points and 12 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Toros moved-up to third place. Lechugueros lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with eight games lost. Toros will face league's leader Fuerza Regia in Monterrey in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Lechugueros will play at home against Aguilas Rojas (#13) in San Juan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
