Seventh-ranked San Juan W. (4-10) made lots of trouble for fourth ranked Carolina G. (8-3) on Wednesday. Carolina G. managed to secure only five-point victory 92-87. However their fans expected easier game. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 20-18. But San Juan W. won second period 19-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where San Juan W. used huge pressure winning it 23-17 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 17-22. Carolina G. made 32-of-38 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. They also forced 22 San Juan W. turnovers. San Juan W. was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch.
