Regular Season Round 3: Wilki Morskie - AZS PP 52-76

Everything could happen in Szczecin at the game between two tied teams. Both seventh ranked AZS PP Poznan and 13th ranked Wilki Morskie had identical 1-2 record. But Wilki Morskie was not able to use a home court advantage and was rolled over by the opponent from Pozoan 76-52 on Saturday night. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 40-15 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. AZS PP Poznan dominated on the defensive end, holding Wilki Morskie to just 7 points in fourth quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Wilki Morskie's 26. It was a good game for center Marek Sobkowiak (200-86) who led his team to a victory with 17 points. Forward Michal Szydlowski (198-87) contributed with 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. AZS PP Poznan (2-2) moved-up to fifth place in Group A, which they share with 4 other teams. Wilki Morskie lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the eleventh position with three games lost. AZS PP Poznan will face league's leader Open Florentyna in Pleszew in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Wilki Morskie will play on the road against AZS UWM Olsz. (#8) in Olsztyn.
