Regular Season Round 4: Toyota A. - Denso Iris 68-60

The game between Top Four teams took place in Nagoya. Third ranked host Toyota Antelopes (3-1) defeated one of their biggest challengers Denso Iris (2-2) 68-60. Denso Iris trailed by 14 points at halftime and as many as 19 after three quarters before a 21-10 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 60-68 at the end of the game. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Mami Ikeda (178-81) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field) and the former international forward Ryoko Yano (178-78) who added 18 points during the contest. At the losing side international center Maki Takada (183-89) responded with 20 points and 6 rebounds and forward Tamotsu Huziwara (175-87) scored 15 points. Denso Iris' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Toyota Antelopes moved-up to second place, which they share with JX Sunflowers. Denso Iris at the other side keep the fourth position with two games lost. They share it with Mitsubishi K.. Toyota Antelopes is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Chanson V-M (#8) in Shizuoka in the next round where they are favorite. Denso Iris will play at home against the league's second-placed JX Sunflowers (#2) in Kashiwa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
