There was no surprise in San Juan where 13th ranked Aguilas Rojas (2-12) were crushed by eighth ranked Soles (7-7) 127-96 on Thursday. The game without a history. Soles led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Aguilas Rojas' 40. Soles shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 56.0 percentage. Aguilas Rojas were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American forward Carl Edwards (196-81, college: Charleston) who scored 24 points. Venezuelan swingman Jose Vargas (196-82) chipped in 16 points and 5 assists. Five Soles and four Aguilas Rojas players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Soles maintains eighth place with 7-7 record.
