No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Guaynabo M. (9-12) beat at home 7th ranked San Juan W. (5-14) 79-69 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Guaynabo M.. San Juan W. managed to win third quarter 18-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Dominic Seals (188-87, college: Texas Tech) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 11 rebounds. Sonia Roman accounted for 15 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. Four Guaynabo M. players scored in double figures. American Tocara Ross came up with 31 points and the other American import forward Holly Mahan (183-86, college: Towson) added 12 points and 18 rebounds respectively for San Juan W. in the defeat. Guaynabo M. maintains fifth place with 9-12 record. Loser San Juan W. keeps the seventh position with 14 games lost. Guaynabo M. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. San Juan W. will play against Carolina G. (#4) and hope to secure a win.
