The most surprising game was the first loss of undefeated Assignia Manresa (2-1) in Santoago de Comp on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by ninth ranked Blusens Monbus (2-1) 61-49. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Assignia Manresa. The hosts trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 29-14 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Blusens Monbus dominated on the defensive end, holding Assignia Manresa to just 3 points in fourth quarter and to 14 points in second half. It was a good game for the former international center Oriol Junyent (207-76) who led his team to a victory with 15 points and 5 rebounds. Argentinian-Italian guard Javier Bulfoni (192-76) contributed with 14 points for the winners. American forward Justin Doellman (206-85, college: Xavier) answered with 17 points and 4 steals and American-Dominican power forward Josh Asselin (211-78, college: Michigan, agency: Duran International) added 12 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Assignia Manresa. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Blusens Monbus moved-up to second place, which they share with 7 other teams including defeated Assignia Manresa. Blusens Monbus is looking forward to face Real Madrid (#6) on the road in the next round. Assignia Manresa will play against Gran Canaria 2014 (#14) in Las Palmas and is hoping to win this game.
