The game had a very big importance for sixth-ranked Ponce L. as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Ponce L. defeated 4th ranked San German on the road 64-54. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of San German. The game was mostly controlled by Ponce L.. San German managed to win fourth quarter 11-8. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Ponce L. forced 21 San German turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Amber Bland (180-86, college: N.Carolina A&T) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds and the other American import guard Nikki Teasley (183-79, college: N.Carolina) who added 11 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. Four Ponce L. players scored in double figures. American center Lady Comfort (188-86, college: Temple) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and forward Zacha Gonzalez (175-87) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Ponce L. have a solid three-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. San German at the other side still keeps top place with ten games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
