Rather predictable result in Homburg where tenth ranked Saar-Pfalz Braves (3-3) defeated 13th ranked BG Karlsruhe (1-5) 97-82 on Friday. Saar-Pfalz Braves shot the lights out from three sinking 17 long-distance shots on high 65.4 percentage. British-Australian guard Lee Jeka (187-83, agency: Limelight Hoops) scored 21 points and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Robert McKiver (191-84, college: Houston) chipped in 23 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was forward Rouven Roessler (200-80) with 17 points and 6 assists and American guard Michael Stockton (185-89, college: Westminster, agency: Limelight Hoops) scored 17 points and 4 assists. Four Saar-Pfalz Braves and five BG Karlsruhe players scored in double figures. BG Karlsruhe's coach tested eleven players and allowed the starting five to rest. Saar-Pfalz Braves moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Jena and Chemnitz. Loser BG Karlsruhe dropped to the fourteenth position with five games lost. Saar-Pfalz Braves will face NBC (#12) in Nurnberg in the next round. BG Karlsruhe will play at home against Crailsheim Merlins.
