Regular Season Round 6: Mykolaiv - Dnipro 79-90

Dnipro can celebrate finally their first win this season after three consecutive loses. The victory is especially important as it came on the road game in Mykolaiv, where they defeated Mykolaiv (3-4) 90-79. Mykolaiv was ahead by 4 points at the halftime before a 44-29 second half run of Dnipro. They outrebounded Mykolaiv 42-29 including 27 on the defensive glass. They brought some defensive toughness making 9 blocks. International guard Steven Burtt (185-84, college: Iona) notched 24 points and 9 assists to lead the effort and American forward Charles Thomas (203-86, college: Arkansas) supported him with 24 points and 10 rebounds. Even 25 points by American point guard Jerome Coleman (187-81, college: Rutgers) did not help to save the game for Mykolaiv. His fellow American import forward Vincent Hunter (208-84, college: Arkansas) added 18 points and 10 rebounds. Five Dnipro and four Mykolaiv players scored in double figures. Dnipro (1-3) left bottom position moving up to twelfth place. It was Mykolaiv's fourth loss in a row. They keep the ninth position with four games lost. Dnipro's next round opponent will be higher ranked BC Odessa (#8) at home and it may be quite challenging game.
