8th ranked Salon Vilpas (2-4) fell to tenth ranked UU-Korihait (3-4) in overtime by eleven points 75-86. The game took place in Salon. But the guests from Uusikaupunki were better at the end. It looked good early as Salon Vilpas took an 7-point lead at the end of first quarter. Then UU-Korihait had a 28-19 second period charge getting the lead. Then Salon Vilpas managed to tie the game at the end of regular time, but lost overtime period 23-. It was a great evening for American forward Cory Johnson (200-88, college: Valparaiso, agency: Scorers 1st Sportmanagement) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 17 rebounds. point guard Mikko Jalonen (186-82) helped adding 21 points and 4 assists. At the losing side American forward Junior Hairston (203-84, college: Towson, agency: Court Side) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import guard Emmanuel Holloway (188-86, college: Illinois St.) scored 22 points and 4 assists. Four UU-Korihait and five Salon Vilpas players scored in double figures. UU-Korihait moved-up to eighth place. Salon Vilpas at the other side dropped to the ninth position with four games lost. They share it with LrNMKY. UU-Korihait will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Salon Vilpas will play on the road against KTP-Basket (#6) in Kotka and hopes to get back on the winning track.
