Regular Season Round 5: Shinshu BW - Saitama Bron. 84-79

There was a small surprise in Nagano where seventh ranked Shinshu BW (2-2) won against 4th placed Saitama Broncos (2-2) 84-79 on Sunday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Saitama Broncos won third quarter 27-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great shooting night for Shinshu BW especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. The game was also dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was power forward Lee Roberts (201-87, college: Findlay, OH) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. Power forward Edward Morris (205-84, college: Pittsburg St.) chipped in 17 points and 7 rebounds. Five Shinshu BW players scored in double figures. Forward John Flowers (200-89, college: W.Virginia, agency: KMG Sports Management) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Kenny Satterfield (188-81, college: Cincinnati) added 18 points and 9 assists respectively for the guests. Shinshu BW moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 5 other teams including defeated Saitama Broncos. Shinshu BW will face Toyama Grouses (#7) on the road in the next round. Saitama Broncos will play against Iwate Big Bulls.
