USA avoided last place at the Panamerican Games 2011 in Guadalajara. They blasted Jamaica 87-41 to finish as No.7 at this event. This is for sure a big disappointment for the USA NT, who had much higher ambitions. Jamaica finished as the last ranked team at this event. Tavelyn James shined for USA with 19 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Shante Evans (10 rebs) and Breanna Stewart (6 rebs) netted 12 points each. On the other side, Jamaica got 19 points and 10 rebs from Simone Jackson. Sasha Dixon had 13 pts and 6 boards. Quarters: 24-11, 28-6, 19-15, 16-9. Mexico and Puerto Rico will fight for the Gold in Guadalajara. In the battle for Bronze, Colombia will meet Brazil.
