Preliminary Round Day 1: DOMINICAN REPUBLIC - USA 76-77

USA escaped with 76-77 victory against Dominican Republic in Day One of the Panamerican Games 2011 in Guadalajara. Americans had to work very hard to get this victory and they have 1-0 record now in Preliminary Group B. Participants of this pool are also Brazil and Uruguay. Lance Thomas shined for the winners with double-double of 15 points and 16 rebounds. Jerome Dyson scored 12 points, while Donald Sloan and Ehambe Moses Randall helped with 8 points each. On the other side, Jack Michael Martinez impressed with 31 points and 10 rebounds. Ricardo Soliver had 13 points and 5 assists, and Juan Coronado stopped to 10 pts. Quarters: 20-20, 17-9, 20-25, 19-23. USA will take on Brazil today. Dominicans will try to get their first win against Uruguay.
