There was a minor upset when 5th ranked Estonian Tartu Ulikool (2-2) was outplayed at home by eighth ranked Lithuanian Juventus (2-2) 96-74 on Friday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Juventus dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Tartu Ulikool's 36. Tartu Ulikool was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Vaidotas Volkus (203-85, college: Redlands CC) fired a double-double by scoring 32 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. point guard Gediminas Maceina (188-84) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points, 7 rebounds and 11 assists. Guard Kristo Saage (184-85) produced 10 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Rain Veideman (192-91) added 16 points respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Juventus moved-up to fifth place in Elite, which they share with defeated Tartu Ulikool. Juventus will face league's second-placed Rudupis in Prienai in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Tartu Ulikool will play at home against Kedainiai (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
