Very important is a road loss of second ranked Pogon Prudnik (4-2) against ninth ranked GTK Gliwice (3-3) on Saturday night. Visiting Pogon Prudnik was crushed by GTK Gliwice in Gliwice 89-62. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Pogon Prudnik. The game was mostly controlled by GTK Gliwice. Pogon Prudnik was better in second period 21-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Pogon Prudnik 41-15 including a 15-1 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for GTK Gliwice especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Pogon Prudnik's players. Power forward Lukasz Nawrot (200-83) had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Pawel Szymanski (187-92) chipped in 21 points during the contest. Four GTK Gliwice players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Tomasz Lakis (194-82) with 18 points and forward Jaroslaw Pawlowski (194-80) scored 12 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. GTK Gliwice have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place in Group B, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Pogon Prudnik dropped to the third position with two games lost. GTK Gliwice will face higher ranked WKK Obiekty (#5) in Wroclaw in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
