Regular Season Round 6: Walter Tigers - Ratiopharm 77-92

Bottom-ranked Walter Tigers (0-6) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 92-77 loss to third ranked ratiopharm Ulm (5-1) in Tuebingen. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. Walter Tigers were tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. ratiopharm Ulm made 18-of-21 charity shots (85.7 percent) during the game. American center John Bryant (208-87, college: Santa Clara) notched a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds (on 11-of-12 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and international guard Per Guenther (185-88) supported him with 21 points and 4 assists (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Even 13 points and 8 rebounds by American guard Reggie Redding (196-88, college: Villanova) did not help to save the game for Walter Tigers. His fellow American import guard Joshua Young (185-88, college: Drake, agency: Pro One Sports) added 11 points and 5 rebounds. Four Walter Tigers players scored in double figures. ratiopharm Ulm have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Telekom Baskets. Walter Tigers at the other side still closes the standings with six games lost. ratiopharm Ulm's next round opponent will be s Oliver Baskets (#6) in Wuerzburg.
