Not a big story in a game when 6th ranked Estonian Tartu Ulikool (3-4) lost on the road to fourth ranked Latvian Ventspils (4-1) 85-80 on Friday. Tartu Ulikool was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. American forward Sam Willard (205, college: Pacific) nailed a double-double by scoring 13 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and guard Janis Strelnieks (191-89) accounted for 18 points and 5 assists. Ventspils' coach Gundars Vetra used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Guard Rain Veideman (192-91) came up with 17 points and 5 assists and center Vallo Allingu (206-78) added 18 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) respectively for Tartu Ulikool in the defeat. Ventspils moved-up to second place, which they share with Rudupis. Tartu Ulikool lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. Ventspils will meet league's leader Siauliai on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Tartu Ulikool will have a break next round.
