Regular Season Round 10: Hanau - Leipzig 64-79

Rather predictable result when second ranked USC Leipzig (7-1) won against on the road 6th ranked Hanau (4-4) 79-64 on Saturday. Hanau was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 29-13 charge of USC Leipzig, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Hanau's 22. It was a very good performance for American forward Monyea Pratt (196-85, college: Stillman) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 5 rebounds. Power forward Ralph Schirmer (203-86) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. American power forward Chris Miles (211-86, college: BYU) replied with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks and Indian-American guard Anish Sharda (191-82, college: St.Mary's (KS)) added 12 points in the effort for Hanau. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. USC Leipzig have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of Group South leader, which they share with BSW Sixers. Hanau lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the sixth place with four games lost. USC Leipzig will face Noerdlingen (#4) at home in the next round. Hanau will play against Fraport Skyliners II in Frankfurt.
