Regular Season Round 12: Loko Plzen - BC Kolin 71-87

Very expected game when 10th ranked BK Loko Plzen (4-8) was defeated at home by fourth ranked BC Kolin (9-2) 87-71. The game was mostly controlled by BC Kolin. BK Loko Plzen was better in third quarter 25-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding BK Loko Plzen to just 6 points in first quarter. It was a good game for American guard Chadwick-Farrell Barnes (190-83, college: New Orleans) who led his team to a victory with 10 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Jiri Jelinek (203-87) contributed with 14 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four BC Kolin players scored in double figures. Forward Ladislav Toth (196-83) replied with 22 points and swingman Tomas Kubiznak (193-78) added 10 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for BK Loko Plzen. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. BC Kolin have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with BK Prostejov. BK Loko Plzen at the other side dropped to the twelfth position with eight games lost. BC Kolin's next round opponent will be Basketbal Svitavy (#8) at home where they are favorite. BK Loko Plzen will play against BK Usti nad Labem (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
