Very important is a road loss of third ranked Adelaide Lightning (5-2) against fifth ranked Bulleen Boomers (4-1) on Sunday night. Visiting Adelaide Lightning was defeated by Bulleen Boomers in Melbourne 77-61. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Adelaide Lightning. The game was mostly controlled by Bulleen Boomers. Adelaide Lightning was better in fourth quarter 28-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Bulleen Boomers forced 20 Adelaide Lightning turnovers. International guard Rachel Jarry (185-91) stepped up and scored 15 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and international center Liz Cambage (203-91) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Four Bulleen Boomers players scored in double figures. The former international center Suzy Batkovic-Brown (193-80) responded with 22 points and 6 rebounds and international center Abby Bishop (189-88) scored 9 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the third consecutive win for Bulleen Boomers. Defending champion moved-up to fourth place. Adelaide Lightning at the other side keeps the third position with two games lost. Bulleen Boomers will play against Dandenong Rangers (#5) at home in the next round. Adelaide Lightning will play against Dandenong Rangers and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
