Regular Season Round 10: PBG Basket - Polpharma 64-82

Bottom-ranked Polpharma managed to get a second victory, breaking the four-game losing streak on Wednesday night. This time they won against ninth-ranked PBG Basket in Poznan 82-64. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 18-point difference suggests that Polpharma is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 82-64. Polpharma made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. American guard Tony Weeden (186-83, college: Chicago St.) fired 20 points and 5 assists for the winners. International point guard Tomasz Snieg (190-89) chipped in 11 points. Naturalized Belgian center Aleksander Lichodzijewski (202-84) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and Serbian guard Djordje Micic (195-83) added 13 points and 6 assists respectively for lost side. Polpharma (2-7) moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with LKS Lodz and AZS PW. PBG Basket lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth position with seven games lost. Polpharma will meet at home higher ranked Slask Wroclaw (#8) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. PBG Basket will play against Kotwica in Kolobrzeg and hope to secure a win.
