Regular Season Round 8: Angers BC 49 - Challans 82-71

There was a minor upset when 9th ranked Vendee Challans (4-4) was defeated on the road by eleventh ranked Angers BC 49 (4-4) 82-71 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by Angers BC 49. Vendee Challans was better in second period 18-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Angers BC 49 looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Angers BC 49 made 11 blocks. The best player for the winners was guard Thibaut Lonzieme (195-89) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). American forward Tyray Pearson (201-80, college: Iowa St.) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds. Four Angers BC 49 players scored in double figures. Angers BC 49's coach Jacky Perigois used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
