Rather expected game when 3rd ranked Estonian BC Rakvere (1-2) lost to top-ranked Lithuanian Naglis Palangos (4-0) in Palanga 62-76 on Saturday. The game without a history. Naglis Palangos led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Naglis Palangos outrebounded BC Rakvere 45-28 including 17 on the offensive glass. BC Rakvere was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American center Dane Johnson (208-86, college: Hofstra) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. L.Mikalauskas contributed with 14 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Center Reinar Hallik (208-84) replied with 17 points and 5 rebounds and forward Janis Vahter (195-86) added 11 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for BC Rakvere. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Naglis Palangos maintains first position in Group A with 4-0 record. Loser BC Rakvere keeps the third place with two games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
