Regular Season Round 4: Triumph - Khimky 72-93

PBL top team - Khimky (4-0) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed tenth ranked Triumph Lyubertsy (0-3) in Lubertsy 93-72. The game was mostly controlled by Khimky. Triumph Lyubertsy managed to win third quarter 31-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Khimky shot 62.5 percent from the field and made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Khimky outrebounded Triumph Lyubertsy 41-29 including a 33-13 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. International center Timofey Mozgov (216-86, agency: RIZO) fired 20 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. International guard Vitaly Fridzon (195-85, agency: Alti Sport) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds. Five Khimky players scored in double figures. Guard Dmitry Kulagin (195-92) produced 15 points and 5 assists and American forward Davon Jefferson (204-86, college: USC) added 17 points respectively for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Khimky have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 4-0 record. Loser Triumph Lyubertsy still closes the standings with three games lost. Khimky will meet at home Spartak-Prim. (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Triumph Lyubertsy will have a break next round.
