There was a small surprise in Slupsk where fifth ranked Zastal ZG (6-2) beat 3rd placed Energa Czarni (6-3) 72-67 on Sunday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. The best player for the winners was Nigerian forward Gani Lawal (206-88, college: Georgia Tech) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds. International point guard Kamil Chanas (188-85) chipped in 13 points and 5 rebounds. Five Zastal ZG players scored in double figures. American center David Weaver (209-87, college: Wake Forest) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) and American-Puerto Rican guard Darnell Hinson (186-80, college: Northeastern St.) added 15 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Zastal ZG moved-up to third place. Loser Energa Czarni dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. Zastal ZG will face Polpharma (#10) in Starogard in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Energa Czarni will play on the road against the league's leader PGE Turow (#1) in Zgorzelec.
