Very expected game when 12th ranked Herzoege Wolfenbuettel (3-7) was edged at home by third ranked Spot Up Medien Baskets (7-3) 84-83 on Sunday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Herzoege Wolfenbuettel won fourth quarter 31-24. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Spot Up Medien Baskets shot 66.0 percent from the field. It was a great evening for center Daniel Theis (207-92) who led his team to a victory scoring 26 points and 9 rebounds. Cuban swingman Howard Sant-Roos (198-91) helped adding 16 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. Swingman Henje Knopke (193-85) responded with 22 points and 8 assists and guard Martin Kemp (182-85) scored 20 points and 4 assists. Five Spot Up Medien Baskets and four Herzoege Wolfenbuettel players scored in double figures. Spot Up Medien Baskets moved-up to second place in Group North, which they share with Dorsten. Herzoege Wolfenbuettel lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh position with seven games lost. Spot Up Medien Baskets will face Hertener Loewen (#6) at home in the next round. Herzoege Wolfenbuettel will play against SSV Lok Bernau (#13) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
