Everything went according to plan when top-ranked Forssan Koripojat (8-0) edged on the road 4th ranked Tapiolan Honka (5-3) 75-72 on Thursday. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 23-11. But Tapiolan Honka won second period 27-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Forssan Koripojat forced 19 Tapiolan Honka turnovers. Strangely Tapiolan Honka outrebounded Forssan Koripojat 39-24 including 27 on the defensive glass. Tapiolan Honka was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward HL Coleman (202-74, college: Wyoming) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. The other American import forward Tracy Robinson (201-86, college: Loyola, IL) contributed with 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Forward Tero Laitinen (201-87) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and center Daniel Dolenc (205-93) added 14 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Tapiolan Honka. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Forssan Koripojat have an impressive eight-game winning streak. Forssan Koripojat maintains first position with 8-0 record. Tapiolan Honka lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with three games lost. Forssan Koripojat will face league's second-placed Oulun NMKY at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Tapiolan Honka will play against Saynatsalon Riento in Jyvaskyla.
