Regular Season Round 13: Okinawa GK - Shiga L-Stars 79-84

There was a small surprise when fourth ranked Shiga L-Stars (7-4) beat on the road much higher ranked Okinawa GK (8-3) 84-79 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they rallied back getting tie in the second period and winning the second half and won the game by 5 points. Shiga L-Stars forced 19 Okinawa GK turnovers. It was a very good performance for Panamanian forward Dionisio Gomez Camargo (203-80, college: Arkansas) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points and 18 rebounds. American forward Ray Nixon (203-84, college: Wisconsin) contributed with 17 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Shiga L-Stars players scored in double figures. American center Jeff Newton (205-81, college: Indiana) answered with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and guard Narito Namizato (175-89) added 19 points in the effort for Okinawa GK. Okinawa GK's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Shiga L-Stars moved-up to third place, which they share with Fukuoka Rizing. Okinawa GK at the other side keeps the second position with three games lost. Shiga L-Stars will have a break next round. Okinawa GK will play again at home against Shiga L-Stars and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
