Regular Season Round 9: Belfast Star - UL Eagles 65-70

An interesting game for UL Eagles (5-4) which played road game in Belfast against 4th placed Belfast Star (0-9). Third ranked UL Eagles managed to get a 5-point victory 70-65. UL Eagles outrebounded Belfast Star 38-25 including a 18-1 advantage in offensive rebounds. The former international center Jason Killeen (211-85, college: Augusta St., agency: JEMsports) nailed a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds for the winning side and Eion Quigley accounted for 18 points and 7 rebounds. Four UL Eagles players scored in double figures. American forward Tyson Johnson (198-87, college: Wyoming, agency: Strategic Sports) came up with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import forward Michael McKillop (194-85, college: Davidson) added 15 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Belfast Star in the defeat. UL Eagles moved-up to second place. Loser Belfast Star still closes the standings with nine games lost. UL Eagles will meet at home league's leader DCU Saints in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Belfast Star will play against Moycullen and hopes to get finally their first victory.
