Regular Season Round 12: PGE Turow - Energa Czarni 60-61

The most crucial game of the last round was another loss of top-ranked PGE Turow (9-2) in Zgorzelec on Saturday night. Hosts were edged by fourth ranked Energa Czarni (7-3) 61-60. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 61-60. It was a good game for American center David Weaver (209-87, college: Wake Forest) who saved his team from a defeat with 19 points and 6 rebounds. Canadian center Scott Morrison (212-86, college: Portland St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four Energa Czarni players scored in double figures. Australian-Dutch center Daniel Kickert (208-83, college: St.Mary's, CA) replied with 15 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and guard Michal Jankowski (192-87) added 12 points in the effort for PGE Turow. PGE Turow's coach Jacek Winnicki tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Energa Czarni moved-up to third place, which they share with Trefl Sopot. PGE Turow at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost. Energa Czarni is looking forward to face AZS Koszalin (#6) at home in the next round. PGE Turow will play against Polpharma (#10) in Starogard and is hoping to win this game.
