Regular Season Round 9: B.Muenchen - Fraport SKY 58-57
Date: November 20, 2011
Very predictable result when seventh ranked Bayern Muenchen (6-3) edged at home 16th ranked Deutsche Bank Skyliners (2-7) 58-57 on Sunday. However just one-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. American guard Je'Kel Foster (191-83, college: Ohio St.) stepped up and scored 12 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and international forward Philipp Schwethelm (201-89, agency: Pro One Sports) chipped in 11 points and 5 rebounds. Bayern Muenchen's coach Dirk Bauermann used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was American guard Jimmy McKinney (192-83, college: Missouri, agency: Strategic Sports) with 16 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import point guard Michael Thompson (177-89, college: Northwestern) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Bayern Muenchen moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams. Deutsche Bank Skyliners lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the sixteenth position with seven games lost. Bayern Muenchen will face ALBA Berlin (#7) at home in the next round. Deutsche Bank Skyliners will play against TBB Trier (#15) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
